Kristina Miller has joined the Women’s Veterans Interactive team as the Senior Advisor, Labor Relations & Economic Sustainability. Ms. Miller is supporting WVI in the ongoing development and promotion of employment support services, specific to the needs of our Women Service Members and Veterans. By advocating relevant initiatives, enhancing awareness of the diversified issues, promoting applicable laws, and generating an ongoing consortium of external support, Ms. Miller will expand necessary services in the way of hiring and retention of female citizen warriors and veterans.
While at the Office of Secretary Defense, Ms. Miller worked under the Chief of the Army Reserve to launch the first ever employment to civilian partnership program, and then went on to serve as the Special Advisor on the VOW Task Force was responsible for TAP redesign, strategic development and implementation of transition assistance initiatives across all reserve component branches of services. In this role, she served on the White House Veteran’s Job Council and was a member of the President’s Performance Improvement Council (OMB/ PIC), as well as the Employment and Education Councils of the Veteran’s Opportunity Workforce (VOW) Task Force, which led to the passing of the bipartisan VOW Act.
Through her intense commitment towards decreasing both the high Unemployment Rate as well as the impact to the DoD’s Discretionary Fund, Ms. Miller acted as the defense representative on several spearheaded private-sector group tanks, i.e. US Chamber’s Hiring Our Heroes, JP Morgan Chase’s 100k Jobs Mission, CEB/Coca-Cola’s Veteran’s Job Council and GE’s Get Skills To Work, maintains active partnerships with the various VSO/MSO’s and is widely known for her positive relationships with business partners in the US and abroad.
Ms. Miller has over 15 years in Human Resources Management experience in both the private and public sector, specializing in Aerospace/Defense & Media Relations. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management, and is an active member of the Society for Human Resources Management, to include her SHRM-CP certification, and also maintains her PHR certification through the globally recognized Human Resources Certification Institute.
Ms. Miller has been recognized with various awards and meritorious citations, including the Secretary of Defense Seven Seals Award, is a recipient of the White House Council silver and bronze volunteerism awards through GIS (under both Bush & Obama Administrations) and the Global Spirit Award.
