“I really appreciate Women Veterans Interactive understanding more than anything! I appreciate WVI’s help with the light bill and rental payments! When I called yesterday, the utility company was kind enough to extend the payment until June 3rd, even though I don’t get paid until June 6th. I have never been in a situation where my lights might be cut off and it’s really scary.

Operation Safety Net Was There When Nobody Else Would Help

I am a veteran, member of the Air Force Reserves, wife and mother of four children (11, 10, 3, and 1). My husband and he suffers from ADHD and has applied for disability, but the case is on appeal because it was denied. I have two special needs children. I myself found out I have early signs of multiple sclerosis, and extensive nerve damage in both left and right arms. At this rate, the neurologist says I am liable to lose the use of my hands. The topic of surgery has come up but I was also told that the nerve damage is irreversible.

It is a constant struggle everyday going to work, trying to provide emotional and financial support for my family, and take care of my own health. My bills are always late. We have to hope and pray that an emergency doesn’t happen because we have absolutely no breathing room when it comes to finances.

I really appreciate Women Veterans Interactive understanding more than anything! I appreciate WVI’s help with the light bill and rental payments! When I called yesterday, the utility company was kind enough to extend the payment until June 3rd, even though I don’t get paid until June 6th. I have never been in a situation where my lights might be cut off and it’s really scary.

Again, I appreciate your help. I have never heard of Women Veterans interactive. I am part of a group on Facebook called “You’ll Never Stand Alone”. I asked the ladies of the group which organizations help with emergency assistance. Mrs. Ebony Johnson kindly gave me your information and I am SO thankful to her. I have never heard of it before! I have been in several situations where evictions occurred because the VA wouldn’t help, the military wouldn’t help, and my family wouldn’t help.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help.
